Russia's Interfax news agency reported on May 20 that Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the first four months of Russian natural gas production 246.4 billion cubic meters, an increase of 8%. Limited by the OPEC+ production cut agreement, oil production was 195.7 million tons, down slightly by 1.8% year-on-year. Electricity consumption increased by 6.1%, reflecting a positive trend in economic production. Putin stressed that despite sanctions and sharp fluctuations in global and regional energy markets, Russia's domestic energy fuel complex has developed steadily and constantly opened up new export directions. Fully meeting growing domestic demand is the top priority.
